EmulationStation Android APK is now available on Android, allowing retro gamers to play their collections on more devices than ever before. EmulationStation developer Leon Styhre announced the news earlier today in the Emulation Station Discord.
As Styhre wrote on Discord; "I'm very happy to announce that after months of hard work ES-DE is now available for Android! There is a paid (but cheap) version of this app available on the Amazon Appstore.
As of now, EmulationStation is only available in the Amazon Appstore, since Styhre says "Google has refused to accept ES-DE for their store". The developer hopes the frontend will eventually be released on the Google Play Store "someday".
EmulationStation on Android costs $5.39 on the Amazon Appstore, but it's a small price to pay for such a well-known frontend. A player who wants to download the app must have an Android 11 device or higher.
More than 120 different platforms can be played with the frontend and a wide range of emulators are supported. Additionally, Emulation Station offers a variety of themes, and players can download even more through its built-in theme downloader.
