Space Engine is a simulation game developed by Cosmographic Software. The planetarium is designed to mimic the grandeur of the universe, an interactive 3D experience. As players explore the galaxy's far reaches and uncover its mysteries, they embark on an intergalactic adventure.

As with Universe Sandbox 2, Space Engine uses procedurally generated areas for uncharted sections of space to make learning about the universe fun and engaging. The game also uses photorealistic models to enhance immersion and realism.

About Space Engine APK

Space Engine is a 1:1 scale science-based Universe simulator that shows billions upon billions of galaxies, nebulae, stars, and planets in their full size. Whether you want to explore Earth, our neighboring worlds in the Solar System, or orbit a black hole in a galaxy billions of light-years away, you can do it all seamlessly, without transitions.

Time and space are all yours to explore - cruise between stars a million times faster than light, and accelerate time to watch the orbital motions of a thousand worlds. Your journey will feature procedural 3D terrain with detailed textures on every planet you encounter. You can explore everything in the sky - stars, galaxies, planets, moons, asteroids, comets, black holes and neutron stars, star clusters and nebulae - at the touch of a button.

Spacecraft with Newtonian physics and pilot-assist autopilot (in early development but fully usable) are yours to fly anywhere in the universe in Flight Simulator mode. In addition, Space Engine is very friendly to modders and add-on developers - you can create your own planets, star systems, even galaxies, import your own spacecraft models, create your own GUI skins, and more.

With Space Engine, the possibilities are limitless.

Space Engine Planetarium capabilities:

Astronomy

All types of celestial objects are represented, including galaxies, nebulae, stars and star clusters, planets and moons, comets and asteroids. Galaxies (NGC/IC), stars (HIPPARCOS), nebulae, and planets (Solar System and extrasolar planets) are represented using data from catalogs. The uncataloged regions of space are home to procedurally generated objects such as galaxies, stars, clusters of stars, nebulae, and planets.

Controls

The universe is yours to explore - from surface to interstellar and intergalactic space, you can travel effortlessly between any object and any distance. The WASD keys or a gamepad are used to move through space, as well as to control free flight like in a game. In addition to time travel, you can also accelerate, decelerate, or reverse time, and jump to a certain date. You will become familiar with the controls through detailed interactive tutorials.

Graphics

A volumetric 3D model of galaxies and nebulae with interstellar dust clouds and a 3D model of a planet or star. Actual data from space probes is used for many Solar System bodies, with huge, high-resolution texture packs available as free DLC. The surface of unmapped and procedural planets is generated procedurally using your computer's GPU. As well as realistic atmospheric scattering, eclipse shadows, animated auroras and comet tails, and physically-based light warping near black holes and neutron stars, with animated accretion disks and jets, the game includes other features.

Physicists

Realistic and physically-based generation of procedural objects (galaxies, star systems, planets) and their properties (mass, radius, temperature, atmospheric parameters, etc.). In multiple-star systems, orbital motion of planets, moons, and stars is displayed and calculated accurately. The Alcubierre warp drive physics, orbital motion, and atmospheric flight models are realistic concepts for the design and physics of spaceships.

Reality virtual

With Space Engine, you can use Oculus (via a native library) and SteamVR (HTC Vive, Valve Index, WMR, and other headsets). The VR controllers are partially supported: you can select objects with one and move around with the other. VR support is still a work in progress, and new users are advised to learn the program in 2D before trying VR.

Sound

The music tracks are original compositions by many authors, with context-sensitive playback. The development of sound effects for planetary environments and space ships is underway.

Tools

You can get started using the Planetarium with the help of built-in tutorials. Search for celestial objects by name and find the nearest star systems. You can explore the cosmos using a scalable chart of the planetary system and the Universe map. Locations can be saved, exported, and imported, and can easily be shared between users. The program keeps a journal of the objects you have recently visited. You can learn all about the objects you find using the built-in "Wiki" info system, which includes handwritten descriptions of many objects. Shows orbital paths of celestial objects, labels and markers, constellations, and other information.

Support for multiple languages

Space Engine is currently available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Finnish, Swedish, Croatian, Czech, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Catalan, Chinese, Japanese, Korean. There are many new localizations in development. You can enable other localizations in-game, but only those that are 100% complete are displayed on the Steam store page.

Modding

Space Engine supports the creation and import of user add-ons such as catalogs, models, and textures for deep space objects, planets, and space ships. On Steam Workshop, spacecraft models representing both real and fictional designs - including those from popular sci-fi franchises - are regularly imported and shared.
